Very economical for us. Much better than a resort for comfort and personal space. The included vehicle was AMAZING. It saved us about 3000baht in transports and taxi services. Dave was a great host and airport transfers were on time. Swimming pool and outdoor spaces were fantastic.

David was amazing, our luggage didn't arrive on the island with us due to flight delays. David and his assistant phoned the airport on our behalf numerous times and finally located our bags and took us back to the airport to collect them the next day all free of charge, not sure what we would have done without his help. On the way back from the airport David told us all the great restaurants to eat in and loads of island information. The accommodation was spacious and all the bedrooms were huge with en suite bathrooms. The area was quiet and peaceful, there is a lovely place to eat called Big Coco, a taxi office and a few other things within easily walking distance. A small supermarket about 3-4 minutes drive. Having the use of the car with the villa was a real bonus. Thank you so much David for all your help, we all had a great time.

David was fantastic! A very good communicator, he never took long to respond both in the lead up to our holiday as well as during the stay. A group of 6 of us stayed here after much debate whether to choose this place or one of David's other properties. This is David's business, so he is very accommodating. He picked us up from the airport and on the way to the villa he pointed out 'Big Dave's Recommendations' for places to eat, but also helped us get our bearings- the only way to improve would be to have a map handy so you could mark the places of interest as you drive. As with all visits to new destinations it can be a lot to take in! We had a late fly out, and again David and his assistant Neung took great care of us, allowing us the use of another vacant villa and Neung's personal car whilst our old villa & car were cleaned for the next guests. 5* service for sure! In regards to the (URL HIDDEN) IS Thailand, so I think you need to be forgiving of a few minor details, but if you are after a perfect stay, you will be lucky to have it on this Island even if you have money to burn, I would think! The villa is located about 20 minutes from Lamai depending on traffic (sometimes closer to 30 minutes). This area has pros and cons - you feel very secluded, apart from the odd car driving past, you can hear nature all around. This place is called the Butterfly Villa for a reason! It is a little far if you want to travel into Chaweng everyday, however the use of a car is really helpful and means you can travel on your own (otherwise bargain down to 400THB each way to Lamai if you're taking a taxi). We tried to walk to the nearby shops in the evening but turned back because we found the dogs guarding their nearby homes to be a little agressive after dark (also there aren't many streetlights so it was a bit scary). The house is beautiful, however wooden doors tend to warp, so we had troubles with various locks. It felt like a safe neighbourhood and there is a combination safe for valuables, so not a huge deal for us. We had some troubles getting the hot water system to work, but this was the only miscommunication - the air conditioning activates the compressor or something technical like that, so once we knew, we had no problems. Other than that the only disappointment was the fridge was warm with no ice when we arrived. A few things to consider if you are a fussy traveller - firm beds, non-heated pool, stairs and some slippery tiles throughout, and BYO hairdryer.

Dave was the best host I've ever had and his villa is stunning. Dave gave us two complimentary pick ups to and from the ferry port and an early check in and late check out. We had an issue with the jacuzzi so sent him a message and within fifteen minutes he arrived to fix it. The villa is beautiful and spacious, perfect for 4 couples. Could not recommend this villa and Dave enough!

The place was very beautiful and david was kind enough to have someone pick us up from the airport and drive us to the ferry terminal at the end of our trip as well. The car that David let us use was very helpful in getting around the island. Our air conditioner in one of the rooms was broken during he stay and David sent someone there immediately to help us fix the problem. We would gladly stay here again.

Terms of use
- It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that they also have their own comprehensive Travel & Health Insurance, and appropriate driving documentation for Thailand.
- You are responsible for the vehicle. We cannot replace it if it is in an accident.
- All our vehicles come with a full tank of fuel for your convenience. Please note, however, that the fuel itself is not included in your rental. Before your courtesy return to the airport or ferry, we will make a brief stop to refill the vehicle so it’s ready for the next guest. The refueling cost will be at the guest's expense.

Terms and Conditions for Villa Rental & Vehicle Use
Vehicle Usage Terms
Villa Rental Terms:
BOOKINGS
Peaceful Villas will accept your inquiry for booking. Bookings are on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. Peaceful Villas reserves the right to decline a booking without giving any reason. A booking will be held confirmed once the initial deposit has been paid and the terms and conditions have been accepted.
INITIAL DEPOSIT
An initial deposit of 30% of the Villa rental must be paid before the booking is confirmed. If funds are not received within 5 banking days the reservation shall be deemed as being cancelled. Should the booking be cancelled, cancellation charges will become payable in accordance with cancellation Paragraph below.
PAYMENT
Payment of the outstanding balance must be paid at least two months before the day of arrival. If Peaceful Villas does not receive the balance by the due date, Peaceful Villas reserves the right to cancel the booking and cancellation charges will apply. If the booking is within two months of the arrival, the whole cost of the Villa rental shall be due at the time of booking.
- Please note that when transferring money internationally, there are two fees involved: one for currency conversion (if necessary) and another for the transfer itself. The sender is responsible for covering both of these costs.
CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENTS TO RESERVATION
If it becomes necessary to cancel all or any part of the booking, Peaceful Villas must be notified in writing (email acceptable). The cancellation will take effect from the day the written confirmation is received. The following cancellation charges will be payable depending on when the notification of the cancellation is received in writing:
- Two months before arrival: Deposit can be used as a credit towards another booking within 12 months.
- Within two months of arrival date: All rental payments are forfeited.
The above cancellation charges also apply if Peaceful Villas cancels the booking due to non-payment of the balance. If the dates of the booking require be changed or amended, cancellation charges shall not apply. Any change to the original reservation is subject to the approval of Peaceful Villas.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
Guests should assume the Check-in time is after 2pm and checkout time is before 11 am, unless otherwise agreed. Account will be taken where possible of flight arrival/departure times etc. Guests can use the villa before their flight if it is not booked for that day by anyone else. However, if you wish to be guaranteed time at the villa outside our check-in and check-out times, we advise that you book the extra night(s).
ALTERATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS BY PEACEFUL VILLAS
Though it is unlikely that Peaceful Villas will have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If for any reason beyond our control we are unable to provide you with the Villa, Peaceful Villas reserve the right to cancel the reservation. For example but not inclusive if the property is damaged or rendered un-usable Peaceful Villas will endeavour to locate an alternative property for the period required but no guarantee is given that this can be done. However if this is not possible or you do not wish to be transferred, Peaceful Villas will cancel the booking and refund in full, less any bank transfer charges. Peaceful Villas shall not be liable for any further obligations or claims by the client.
Only those persons stipulated on the booking may reside at the property as guests. Please notify us as soon as possible of any changes. The number of people staying at the property must not exceed the maximum capacity indicated in the website or elsewhere, except in the case of infants (under two years old), or unless specifically authorised. Should the owner or the local representative find that the number of people staying at the property exceeds that on the booking form, he may at the absolute discretion of Peaceful Villas, ask the extra person or persons to vacate the property immediately. No camping is permitted in the property grounds. Peaceful Villas regrets that no pets are allowed on the entire property.
At the discretion of Peaceful Villas a security deposit is required, using a credit card empty signed slip payable to Peaceful Villas with the arrival of the guests. This is to cover the cost of any damage or breakage's during the rental period of the Villa or their contents.
INSURANCE
It is a condition of the booking that the entire party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage). Peaceful Villas is held harmless by you and your party against all claims including any accidents related to the use of the Villa facilities or locally procured third party services such as, but not limited to, watercraft, water sports, jeep or motorbike rental.
COMPLAINTS
Peaceful Villas does not accept responsibility for the breakdown of the supply of water, electricity or of swimming pool filtration systems. Though we will endeavour to arrange for any such problems to be solved quickly. If there are any problems during the rental period, which could not be solved by dealing directly with the Villa staff please contact the manager immediately and he will endeavour to rectify the situation. It is understood that infrastructure, local standards and conditions are often of a less developed nature in a remote resort location than in most urban environments, Peaceful Villas will do as much as can be reasonably expected to avoid and rectify any problems that may occur, but cannot be held responsible for any problems. Any complaints must be notified to Peaceful Villas manager within 24 hours of the occurrence giving rise to the complaint. Should a problem remain unsolved please make a complaint in writing to Peaceful Villas within 14 days of the completion of the rental period. If the Villa is vacated before the end of the rental period without mutual agreement, this may result in the loss of all rights to compensation.
BEHAVIOUR
The person renting the villa is responsible for the correct and appropriate behaviour of the guests staying at the Villa. Should any member of the party not behave in such a manner, Peaceful Villas owner or local representative may at their absolute discretion ask the offending guest or guests to vacate the Villa immediately.
STAFF AT THE VILLA
The services of staff are included at the villa. Additional services such as those of cooks and/or drivers can sometimes be sourced, although such services cannot be guaranteed. Please give ample notice as possible; especially at peak holiday seasons and we shall try to assist. Peaceful Villas can assume no liability for such contracted staff. The rates for these services will be provided in advance and shall be paid as incurred direct to the Manager at the Villa.
VALUABLES
Any valuables left at the property is left at ones own risk. Neither Peaceful Villas nor the owners nor the staff are responsible for their loss or damage.
DUE CARE AND SUPERVISION
As part of this agreement Guests are required to take due care when residing at the villa and especially children playing in the gardens, near or in the pool, on the beach, including the sea. Further more guests are reminded not to enter the Villa wet, as the floors can be slippery. Damage or injury arising shall not be the responsibility of Peaceful Villas in any way whatsoever.
APPLICABLE LAW
These conditions and any contract to which they apply are governed in all respects by Thai law and the Thai courts only shall have jurisdiction in relation to any claim or dispute arising out of, or connected with them.
OTHER
Please note that no additional guests other than those who have booked to stay at the villa, are permitted to stay overnight.
